Schoolgirl dragged along ground ‘like piece of meat’ by police officer

 Police have been criticised over a video showing a schoolgirl being dragged along the ground like a ‘piece of meat’ by an officer.

Footage emerged this week of Katelynn Murphy King being tackled to the ground as she was arrested in Wapping on suspicion of affray and breaching the peace.
The 13-year-old, who was later de-arrested, said she suffered severe bruises in the incident and her grandmother Joan Whittaker, 51, said the actions of the officer were ‘not justified’.

It follows the release of a video, also shot in Tower Hamlets, showing a youth worker being physically restrained as he was arrested.
