Bodybuilder reveals how he almost died from ladybird bite

Bodybuilder almost died from ladybird bite

A bodybuilder has revealed how doctors only gave him a 30% chance of living after he was bitten by a ladybird.
Reza Rezamand, 31, developed sepsis after being bitten by one of the insects causing his foot to swell up to twice its normal size and toes to turn black.
The incident left the 6ft1inch weightlifter feeling ‘lucky’ to be alive and he is now trying to raise awareness of the potential deadly consequences of one of the bites.

‘I’ve never been scared of anything in my life. I can bench press 180kg but I was almost killed by a titchy thing like a ladybird.’
The dad-of-one, who runs his own supplement store,  said ignoring what happened could have cost him his life.

Ladybirds with 'dangerous STDs'

Last month it was warned that a swarm of ladybirds with ‘dangerous STDs’ are appearing in the UK.
The bugs, known as Harlequin Ladybirds, have black instead of red wings, and can transmit infections to other ladybirds.
While the creatures are not thought to be harmful to humans, pest experts recommend sealing windows to make sure they don’t get in homes.
