Father caught trying to meet girl, 13, to ‘kiss and cuddle’
A father drove 100 miles to ‘kiss and cuddle’ what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl but turned out to be a group of vigilante paedophile hunters.
Joseph Henderson sent messages to someone he believed was a schoolgirl called Jessie, telling her she was ‘beautiful’ and ‘hot’.

In fact he was messaging Dark Justice.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how Henderson was asked by if he wanted to have sex.
However, he had responded that he was happy to go at her pace, there was ‘no rush’ and he would be satisfied to just ‘kiss and cuddle’ her.

Henderson of Wilkie Loan, North Lanarkshire, then borrowed a friend’s car so he could drive from his home in Scotland to meet the girl outside a hotel in Newcastle.
When he arrived at the meeting point he was greeted by the police, who had been alerted by Dark Justice.

The court heard he had told officers that he had intended to drive straight home from the meeting point without seeing the girl, because he got ‘cold feet’.
Henderson, of Wilkie Loan, North Lanarkshire, pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.
He was sentenced to a three year community order with rehabilitation requirements and five year sex offender registration.
Jamie Adams, defending, said Henderson was at the ‘lowest point of his life’ when he committed the offence in the summer and had been drinking and taking cocaine.
Mr Adams said Dark Justice used ‘machiavellian’ tactics to prompt Henderson to say more than he wanted to during the chats, which started on an adult website.
Speaking after the hearing, Dark Justice defended their methods.
A spokesman said: ‘We always follow the law and do not try to entrap anyone. Almost 40 people have been convicted as a result of our organisation.
‘Henderson’s defence team seemed to suggest his behaviour was somehow our fault. If that was the case he could have pleaded not guilty and had a trial.’
