Liverpool cult hero Phil Babb claims he once knocked out Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo
Former Liverpool centre-back Phil Babb has sensationally claimed that he once knocked out Manchester United and Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Babb made 128 league appearances for the Merseyside club in the mid to late-1990s before completing a free transfer to Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon in 2000.
At the time, Ronaldo was coming through the ranks at Sporting and the former Reds centre-back has lifted the lid on a training session where the pair had a coming together.

‘We’re doing the training season and it’s attack versus defence,’ Babb said on Fantasy Football Club.
‘So, all the attackers are coming at you. This little kid runs at me. Steps over once, twice, three times, goes past me and sticks it in the top bin.

‘All the lads are like, ‘Babbsy he’s had you off’ and all that so, the next time he’s coming at me… step over one way, step over the next.
‘He shoots past me so I forearm chop him. I knock him out. So Ronaldo’s on the floor and I’m like ‘no more’ or something like that.
