Zayn Malik reveals the EXACT moment he decided to quit One Direction: ‘I was in f*****g bits’

Zayn Malik has spoken of the moment he decided to pack his bags and exit stage left from the biggest boy band in the world, One Direction.
In a passage from his self-titled autobiography, the Pillowtalk singer explained his doubts first began as his relationship with then-fiancee Perrie Edwards was seemingly falling apart around him.
‘It was March 2015. I had been in a bad place for a while and I didn’t see myself getting out of it unless I made a change,’ he wrote.
‘My relationship with my fiancée, Perrie, was breaking down.

‘To make matters worse, there were so many crazy stories flying around in the newspapers about us.
‘It felt like such an invasion of privacy, it made me just want to disappear for a while.’
The singer went on to reveal it was just before a performance in Hong Kong that saw him decide to quit 1D for good – and he was ‘in f*****g bits ‘ over it.
‘I wasn’t going to spend another minute doing something which made me ill and which I no longer believed in,’ he said.
‘I couldn’t see that there was anything left for me to give or to gain from staying. It wasn’t worth it.

Nonetheless, the Mind Of Mine singer also wrote in the memoir he looked back fondly on his days singing with Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry.
‘One Direction was an incredible experience in its own right,’ and said, ‘and it’s a part of me, an integral part of my history, and I’m never going to deny that aspect of my life.’
