Zlatan Ibrahimovic nearly broke my arm, says Burnley hero Tom Heaton

Zlatan Ibrahimovic nearly broke my arm, says Burnley hero Tom Heaton

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has described the feeling of taking a Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot in full force.
Heaton, who was in inspired form as Burnley battled for a famous 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, repeatedly denied Manchester United who had an astonishing 37 shots on goal during the stalemate.
Of those 37 attempts, under-pressure veteran striker Ibrahimovic attempted to beat Heaton on 12 occasions but failed taking his goalless run to six games.

‘I knew I had two men behind me on the line so I thought I’d get out, close the space and spread,’ Heaton said after a stunning save denied Ibrahimovic.
‘Thankfully it has hit me but it nearly broke my arm!’ the goalkeeper joked.

The Clarets, who struggled to create any noteworthy chances of scoring during the game, set out with the mentality of frustrating the home side despite seeing Manchester United reduced to ten man after Ander Herrera’s red card.
‘We came with a gameplan, put in an incredible shift and hung in there,’ Heaton added on reflection.
‘Much has been made about our away form but what a place to come and get our first point.’
