The Super Eagles of Nigeria earlier today defeated Algeria 3-1 in their Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match wearing the new N29,000 jersey.

Chelsea FC duo Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel scored to put Nigeria in the  lead before the end of the first half at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium, Uyo in south-south of the country where the match held.
The Algerians however tried to make a comeback with Nabil Bentaleb’s 67th minute strike, but Moses ended their dream of getting a point with his second goal in stoppage time.

While the win is a welcome development, the present state of Nigeria’s economy has led many to lament the price of the Super Eagles’ new jersey.
Some say wearing the outfit won’t take them to heaven, while others believe it won’t fill their belly.
Nonetheless, Nigeria now lead Group B with six points after two matches. The Super Eagles will be playing Cameroon in their next game as they move closer to get the World Cup ticket.
