Soldier looking for sex with girl is caught out by vigilantes and egged by fellow servicemen

A soldier who arranged to meet an underage girl for sex he met online has been jailed after a fellow serviceman posed as the 15-year-old and egged him.
Private Nicholas Mathews chatted with ‘Ellie’ after she revealed she was only 15 on Tinder. He’s now been jailed for 14 months.
The 28-year-old, who has been awarded medals in Cyprus and Afghanistan, sent her a string of crude messages, including asking if she will perform a sex act on him.

But ‘Ellie’ was invented by rifleman, Daniel Sutor, who set out to catch paedophiles by starting the ‘Vigilante Nonce Hunting Group’.
Mathews, who was 27 at the time, told her ‘not to brag about having sex as he could get in a lot of trouble’, a court heard.
