This woman could become the first female to travel every country on earth

There are a hell of a lot of countries in the World
And those of us who’ve been to a few European countries and Thailand probably think hell, we’re pretty pioneering.
That’s before we realise there are nearly 200 countries to go and deciding to work on our Netflix exploration skills instead.

But unlike us, one woman from Connecticut could be the first female to travel to all 193 sovereign nations and Taiwan, Kosovo and Palestine – also becoming the fastest individual to do so.

27-year-old Cassandra De Pecol, who usually now calls California home, has racked up a huge 181 countries on her list, and is keen to tick the last 15 off.
She began Expedition 196 on 24 July, 2015 and has been travelling for the 15 months since and intends to complete the task in just 40 more days to break the world record for the quickest time to visit all countries.

Originally, Cassandra had only $2,000 and a Kickstarter campaign to her name.

But travelling the world at record speed doesn’t come cheap, she’s spent around $200,000 (£160,000) so Cassandra relies on the support of sponsors (we know, we know) and her Instagram to promote businesses in exchange for lodging.
Describing herself as an entrepreneur promoting peace and sustainability, her belief in ‘responsible tourism’ isn’t all chat:

Not only is she an ambassador for peace at The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT) but speaks to audiences globally about sustainability and environmental action.

‘In the summer of 2014, I quit my job and started executing my plan to travel the world,’ she wrote on her Kickstarter page.
